Jim Minasian’s 10-year-old business, Nevada City Furniture & Mattresses, is an example of why so many of us choose the foothills over the cold, impersonal style of the big city. Many of our ‘locals’ remember this establishment as the ‘Nevada City Warehouse’, dating back 35 + years.
Minasian’s friendly demeanor combined with his commitment to top-notch customer service has loyal patrons regularly popping in to chat and see what new items have come in.
Nevada City Furniture & Mattresses features affordable new and used furniture, including bunk beds, futons couches, wood dinettes, new and used doors (200+) and more. In addition, an impressive selection of vintage and hard-to-find household goods is worth a browse.
“If we don’t carry what you’re looking for, we have a vast selection of catalogues, which gives customers many options in terms of style and color.”
“I’ve always loved furniture,” Jim says. “I consider myself quite knowledgeable because I grew up in the business. I know how to find good quality pieces for a reasonable price. There isn’t anywhere else in the county that offers well-made, affordable furniture.”
Minasian’s 6200 square foot warehouse in the Seven Hills Business District can be spotted from the freeway between the Gold Flat and Sacramento Street exits. Customers can get to the store, which is located at 75 Bost Avenue, by turning on Gold Flat and going down Searls making a right on Bost Avenue.
